After the election for the most favorable bidder as an external expert for Action plan for Port of Bar, and the submission of the basic data, a study visit by the HPC representative was arranged on April 3-5, 2019

During such visit, HPC presented its preliminary design for the implementation of the action plan. In consultation with the experts from the Port of Bar, team defined main actions and general measures that will be included in this action plan, taking into account the capacities and the current situation in the Port of Bar. The proposed measures will concern the reduction of the impact of port operations on the environment. Some of the possible measures to be covered by this action plan are: the reduction of emissions by using electric powered equipment as opposed to those using fossil fuels, education of users on how to operate the equipment in fuel-reduction manner, setting LED lighting, positioning solar panels on top of warehouses, etc.. Representatives of HPC visited the operational part of the port and were acquainted with the situation in the Port of Bar and its regular operations.

On the last day of the study visit, HPC representatives had the opportunity to talk not only with the representatives of Port of Bar H.Co but also with the stakeholders for this action plan. This meeting was attended by environmental inspector, expert from Maritime Safety Department and an officer from the Municipality of Bar who made their contribution in the form of suggestions.

This study visit resulted in a compilation of an inventory of existing equipment including data on energy efficiency and usage as well as agreed compilation of a prioritized list of feasible and promising energy sustainability measures.
